Massage Therapy

Meet the TULA Team

APRIL began her career in massage therapy in 2010, upon completion of of her Certified Massage Therapy and Health Educator Certification from the National Holistic Institute in San Jose, CA, where she studied  a variety of modalities–bridging the gap between traditional Western and Eastern styles of bodywork. Her specialities include Therapeutic/Rehab, Sports, Pre/Post Natal, Swedish, Deep Tissue, and Thai.

Continuing education in advanced pre/post natal massage with the leading expert in the field, Carole Osborne, as well as Esalen-style massage, and therapeutic myofascial bodywork has allowed April the opportunity to grow her knowledge base even more.  She works closely with clients in need of advanced therapeutic work, due to injury or rehab as well as to provide the same access to much needed therapeutic work for pregnant clients, that is often not addressed in the normal course of prenatal massage sessions.  April is both nationally and CA state certified.

In addition to providing bodywork, April also teaches a variety of workshops and classes  to both massage practitioners and the community at large. Topics have ranged the whole spectrum of her interests and experience, including partner massage during pregnancy and Thai Yoga Massage for the community to practitioner education on variety of subjects, such as Deep Tissue Massage and Building a Successful Client Base.

** Our focus is on making sure your session not only meets your wants, but also the needs of your body. Because of that, we do not upcharge for different modalities as we want to keep the intention of the session on what is in your best interest, and that often means incorporating a variety of modalities within each session. We do, however, need additional time to prepare for some modalities, in particular, Prenatal massage and Thai massage, and ask that these are requested at the time of booking. **
